What We Do
The Young Lives Foundation provides the following services and activities for children and young people
- The Kent Appropriate Adult Service – providing trained volunteers to assist and advise young people being questioned by the police when parents or carers are not able to attend.
- The Kent & Medway Independent Visitors Service – providing trained volunteers to befriend young people in care who have little or no meaningful contact with their parents.
- Medway Challengers – providing positive activities and support for individuals and groups of children and young people looked after by Medway Council.
- Medway Children’s Rights & Advocacy Service – providing a rights and advocacy service for all children and young people eligible to receive support from Medway Children’s Services.
- Children in Care Councils – facilitating and supporting young people’s involvement in both Kent and Medway.
- New Directions Mentoring Programme (Medway) – providing trained volunteers to motivate, guide and assist young people towards the achievement of positive goals.
- Upfront – providing the children’s rights and advocacy service for Kent’s looked after children and care leavers
- Independent Mental Health Advocacy – providing independent advocacy for young people detained under the Mental Health Act
